Statut : Declared on 22 October 2025 (Le Nouvel Obs), designated by party members in December 2025 (86%). The unitary left primary scheduled for 11 October 2026 was scrapped by the federal council on 21 September 2026. Members will vote from 10 to 13 December 2026 between her candidacy and backing another left-wing candidate. On 26 October 2026 on France 2, she did not rule out withdrawing in favour of another left-wing candidate if there is a “path to victory”, on condition of a government agreement and an agreement for the legislative elections. She remains a candidate as of this writing.

Born in Bois-Bernard (Pas-de-Calais), opposition councillor in Hénin-Beaumont since 2014, Marine Tondelier has led Les Écologistes since December 2022. She was one of the architects of the New Popular Front in 2024.
